Is The Nintendo Switch Getting An Upgrade Next Year?

The Nintendo Switch has been lacking in power since it’s launch in 2017. It’s being only able to reach 1080p when docked and only 720p when on-the-go. Well, that might change in early 2021, if these rumors are true. It’s been reported by Taiwan’s Economic Daily News accompanied by Bloomberg that Nintendo will release a new model of the Switch next year.

Bloomberg states that “Nintendo has looked into including more computing power and 4K high-definition graphics.” The article continues to report that Nintendo will release a stronger line up of games with the new model. Now, it hasn’t been stated that console can support 4K while undocked and if there will be graphical for future games. It’s expected that the Nintendo Switch still won’t be as powerful as the PS4 or Xbox One, but will have higher graphical fidelity.

Nintendo still hasn’t announced the price point of the new model or if this is even true. It’s been a long-running rumor that a new model would drop for the hybrid console. But, it’s always been shot down by Nintendo or simply shrugged off by the silence Nintendo gives off about it.
